Well the brand is Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 on the motherboard. If not you can use a program to see your hardware but I don't know a linux program for that. I think it shows you in BIOS to.
Don't you have a motherboard guide or a system guide", the CPU central processing unit or 'processor' is a chip that stand on the motherboard, fixed in socket.

A bit on the loud side until I changed the active northbridge cooling to a passive cooling solution. Works like a charm.
Good bang for the buck. DoktorSeven April 19th, It either comes defective, or messes up within a few weeks of purchase.

Abit boards have always done well for me. Lucho April 19th, The mobo was slow and Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 only accepted a hz for RAM and CPUbut I never saw a board that took as much abuse as an Asrock, that still worked fine afterward. Maybe my current Abit will reach that bar.
GreyFox April 19th, Funny how personal experiences can differ so greatly. Asus seems like a pretty good brand to me, but I've had bad experiences with Abit. A couple of my Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 bought Asus boards that had a defective northbridge fan, and they had to have Asus ship them a new one and install it.
I have MSI myself, works fine. Of course, you're right; I am amazed at how different hardware behave differently for different people.
I have three hardware makers that have done nothing but give me misery Asus, ATi, and Creative but Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 seen others that have no problems at all. April 19th, ATI and Creative, I can agree with.
Everybody seems to have a different opinion. Some will swear by Seagate, some like Western Digital, some avoid Hitachi like the plague I voted other because I like DFI the most. I wanted especially this board and had to hunt for it. I've seen cap mods harm performance on some boards. Adding some small value nf capacitors very close to the CPU's Vcore pins would Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 be of more benefit than adding lots of bulk capacitance.

Asio Maybe your voltage rails are to low, your psu not powerfull enough Perhaps adding caps around the memory banks aswell? It could be grounding problem. If so, even a wire from vcore read point to vcore read pin of windbond would be great and and would show correct reading can you do those mods. I've thought about adding fan speed control to the board by modding the winbond chip, but I've not had time to do anything yet. It should be possible to do mod the chip to read other voltages, but it will involve lifting some of the pins on the chip and connecting the voltage supplies to them.

I'll look into it when I get some free time: Doing so I accidently Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 1.60 the resitor vertical R on the left next to the Vdroop mod. Can someone tell me its value? Any change to revive it?
