Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer Driver
Unfortunately, neither the Xn nor the Xn have duplexing capability--not even as an add-on option.
Lexmark Xn review: Lexmark Xn - CNET
The control panel for the Lexmark Xn features a multitude of buttons, including ones to switch between functions, common options for each function, preset numbers for faxing and the standard numeric keypad, menu navigation buttons up, down, select, back, and menuand start and Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer buttons. The two-line LCD is backlit for easy reading in dim light.
Despite the wealth of buttons, the Xn's options are more limited than the Dell dn's. A whirl through the menu shows a flaw that we found very frustrating: Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer you want to make multiple changes at once, say, when you're setting up the printer for the first time, you'll have to hit the menu button for each change you want to make.
If you Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer down without making changes, though, there is a dedicated back button to help you back out of the menus. The automatic document feeder atop the printer can handle 50 pages, while the standard paper drawer holds sheets. The drawer slides out without any stops, so be careful not to pull too enthusiastically lest you drop the whole tray.
The output tray is contained within the body of the printer and holds up to pages; while the design is efficient, you can't expand the output capacity. The backward slant of the output tray makes it unlikely that your printed pages will spill out, and a small piece of plastic flips out to further ensure that longer pages don't go flying. A slot in the front serves as a manual, single-sheet feeder; the paper guides are adjustable but don't snap to standard page sizes. And it can work as a standalone fax machine and copier, as it comes complete Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer both a flatbed scanner mounted on a monochrome laser printer and a page automatic document feeder in the scanner lid.
Unfortunately, what's inside the case isn't as well designed as the outside. Even though the Xn does a reasonably good job as a printer, fax machine, and copier, it delivers less than I'd expect for the price.
Lexmark Xn Manuals
An AIO should let you take advantage of all of its capabilities. In particular, you should be able to use it to fax from any PC on the network. But with the Xn, you Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer to print a document and fax the hard copy instead.
This wastes paper, wastes time, and ensures that the Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer version won't be as readable as it would if you had faxed it directly from your hard drive. On an equally sour note, even though the Xn lets you scan to a PC over your network, you have to jump though some unnecessary hoops to do that.

To scan with the software that ships with the printer, you have to open your browser, log on to the Xn's built-in Web Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer, and define a scan profile, which includes things such as the file format and filename to save to. Only then can you go to the front panel, hit the scan button, choose the profile, and scan.
Worse, the profile disappears when you close the browser window, so you Lexmark X342n All-in-One Printer to create a new profile every time you want to scan. Lexmark also offers a Twain driver that makes scanning easier, but first you have to find out about it and download it. Lexmark says it's including a printed letter in boxes that are shipping now that explains how to get the driver, and it will "eventually" add it to the installation CD.

To its credit, the company also says that it's trying to track down customers who bought units that shipped before the driver was available and contact them about it. The Xn also drops the ball just a bit on paper-handling.
Setup is standard for a small monochrome laser-based AIO. To set it up on a network, you simply remove the packing materials, plug in the cables and power cord, and run the automated installation routine.
The Xn's speed and output quality are acceptable, but nowhere near good enough to make up for its shortcomings.
